About Network Rail

There are over 33,000 people in our business, determined to further improve safety, efficiency and reliability. As one of our new graduates, you’ll have an important part to play in shaping our future. We’re extremely ambitious and constantly evolving, so we’re looking for self-starters who are ready to play their part in the landmark projects we are involved in (see our Major Projects section) or make a real difference to the daily operation and maintenance of our network.

We’re a business that creates, innovates, invests, maintains and provides a service to over 2.75 million people every day. We manage the largest stations in the country and we are also one of largest landowners in the UK. Our achievements are going from strength to strength – for example, train punctuality is at its highest for seven years and rail travel is the safest form of transport in Britain.

As a company, we’ve embarked on a transformation programme to define our vision for the future and develop the right skills and processes to deliver it. The programme will help create a sustainable transport system for Britain, with Network Rail becoming an organisation focused on delivering for passengers and freight users, seven days a week. We are a forward looking company – one that plays an integral part in the UK economy. Our task now is to build on the progress we have made so that we can transform Britain’s railway into a world-class infrastructure, with a world-class operational standard. With all the huge projects on the horizon, and the plans we have to further improve our delivery capabilities, we’re well on the way to achieving our goals.
