Training & development

Ongoing career development with Network Rail

Throughout your graduate programme, it will ultimately be your responsibility to take the initiative, plan ahead, network with people in the areas that you are interested in and grab every opportunity going. Nothing will be handed to you on a plate so you will need plenty of self-motivation, resilience and personal organisation. Needless to say, we’ll give you all the support you need, every step of the way.

We’ll support your continuing development through the provision of quarterly master classes – a focused environment for you to expand your leadership skills and network with senior business leaders and fellow graduates.

We have put a lot of investment into ongoing training and structured leadership programmes to maximise your potential. A number of these courses are delivered at our world-class, purpose-built leadership and development centre, Westwood. Built specifically to deliver our programme of professional skills development, it is fully owned and operated by Network Rail, and provides a focal point for our work to develop best practice management capabilities across the company. Our leadership programmes have been developed in partnership with the University of Warwick to provide a consistent standard of leadership development and management education. They are aimed at people taking on new levels of organisational responsibility, and those with identified leadership potential.
